Tourist Facility, Aspire Tower, understood to be the first of its kind in Doha, was to fully integrate four high quality robotic cameras with the largest zoom available for a tourist application at the top of the prestigious Aspire Tower. Gearhouse Broadcast also delivered a number of user kiosks and integrated bespoke software.

Working with Sports City's initial ideas integrator Gearhouse Broadcast provided consultancy, equipment specification and design, installation, commissioning, documentation and training followed by after care support. Gearhouse also supplied four hundred days technical support post completion.

The camera selected, a CST Luna Vision was chosen for its resolution and low light capability, as the system will be used during the day and at night time by tourists visiting the tower.

Challenging environmental conditions meant that all external equipment needed to be extremely robust. The high resolution pan tilt head and housing product from BBV/MAD (Building Block Video and Meltham Aviation Design) is relatively new to market and was selected as it provides excellent reliability and stability in conditions which can exceed 50 deg centigrade.

Gearhouse Broadcast's partners in the software development, Touch4 have specialist experience in Kiosk style applications for both software and hardware. The Aspire Tower project proved to be a complex challenge due to the amount of hardware control required. Rigorous testing was conducted to ensure the equipment interfaced correctly prior to shipping. Touch4 were also responsible for providing the kiosk style screen housings which have been fabricated to a very high standard.

Sport City Project has worked with Gearhouse Broadcast previously on high profile projects like the Aspire Academy for Sports Excellence, where the company provide comprehensive broadcast installation of the entire multi arena venue.
