Definition of a Flyaway
A Flyaway is a portable production unit which contains everything you need to create a broadcast. It is used predominantly on location and for outside broadcast work but can also be used to enhance facilities in existing studios, for instance to upgrade to HD for a particular programme.

Our Flyaways have been used at some of the world’s most prestigious sporting events including Football World Cups & European Championship Football, both Olympic and Commonwealth Games and at international tennis tournaments the ATP World Tour & Finals, the Australian Open Tennis and Wimbledon. Custom Built
We produce system drawings that give a clear guidance through an entire or partial system, showing the technical philosophy at a glance, which range from 4 to 36 camera flyaway solutions. The systems, built into 32U flight cases, are made up of Video Distribution, Audio Distribution, Video Router, Audio Router, Camera Control, Communication and Monitor Gallery Rigs. The modular design enables the size of a facility to be increased or de-creased with ease dependant on the production requirements. Our systems can provide numerous solutions including:
Facilities
We provide full production facilities for the coverage of a specific event large or small with cameras, audio, slo-motion replay with either VTR or disc based equipment.
For MCR (Master Control Rooms) and IBC (International Broadcast Centres) facilities include signal distribution, quality control, communication systems, archiving, tape format transfers, standards conversion, production control galleries or stand alone linear and non-linear edit suites.
Audio - breakthrough one box solution
Gearhouse Broadcast provides a first class audio service offering consultancy and audio packages. Radio microphone packages are individually designed for each client, aerials, transmitters, frequencies, and receivers are picked depending on the environment and application the customer needs. Our one box solution has been used by numerous clients and has been a breakthrough in how racks with radio microphones are packaged. Everything you need is there, aerials, transmitters, receivers, with internal wiring and output panels. The system is up and running in less than ten minutes. As well as radio microphones from Shure, Trantec, and Sennheiser, we also have a large range of other equipment available, in fact everything from a complete audio de-rig system to a single microphone.
