These modules convert HDMI video to and from SDI video signal formats up to 3Gbit/s, providing a means to use consumer hardware such as camcorders and TV screens in a professional digital environment with no image compression. Part of the Yellobrik range manufactured by Lynx Technik, they all offer fibre input/output capabilities by means of optional SFP fibre modules. HDMI to SDI converters are available with or without frame synchroniser and analogue audio embedding. An SDI to HDMI conversion module offers, in addition, audio de-embedding and on-screen monitoring of data embedded in the SDI signal. The range includes designs for use with either unbalanced AES digital or balanced analogue audio. Modules may be used alone, or mounted in an optional rack-mounting frame.

SDI inputs and outputs: SDI video, 75ohms, BNC, SMPTE 424M, SMPTE 292M, SMPTE 259M. Multi-standard operation from 270Mbit/s to 3Gbit/s; SDTV 525/625; 720p and 1080p, 23.98/24/25/29.97/30/50/59.94/60Hz; 1080psf, 23.98/24/25/29.97/30Hz; 1080i, 50/59.94/60Hz.
SDI inputs: Return loss: Better than 15dB to 1.5Gbit/s and 10dB up to 3Gbit/s. Automatic cable EQ: 250m, 270Mbit/s; 140m, 1.5Gbit/s; 80m, 3Gbit/s; (Belden 1694A cable).
HDMI inputs: 3D compatible input, type A connector.
HDMI outputs: Version 1.4 (deep colour), type A connector. 24 bit (3x 8bit) and 30bit (3x 10bit), deep colour; R,G,B / Y,Cr,Cb / X,Y,Z.
Digital audio outputs: AES 3id, 75 ohms, BNC.
Analogue audio inputs and outputs: 24,22,20,18,15,12 dBu full scale, balanced mode, 6.35mm 3-pole jack; -10dBV, unbalanced mode.
Analogue audio inputs: Impedance: 10k ohms. Response: Better than +/- 0.2dB, 20Hz to 20kHz. Sample rate: 48kHz.
Power source: 12V DC; AC adapter supplied. Dimensions: 105 x 95 x 22mm.
Note: 'For legal reasons, HDMI capture devices from LYNX Technik AG are designed not to capture, convert or transmit video or audio from HDCP copy-protected sources' such as satellite receivers, cable receivers and BD players.
Included accessories: All Yellobrik modules are supplied with a plug-top power supply with UK, US, Australian and European plug fittings, wall-mounting brackets and a plastic transport case.
