Gearhouse provide RF Installation for Host Broadcast Operations of the UEFA EURO 2008™

Gearhouse Broadcast provided Commentary & Information Systems at each of the eight stadia across Austria and Switzerland for the UEFA EURO 2008™ managed by UEFA Media Technologies, subsidiary of UEFA appointed to produce Host Broadcasting Operations.

Each Commentary area allows for eighty to one hundred commentary positions for commentators from all over the world.  Also within the Commentary area Gearhouse provided a two hundred press position capacity for international media.

The technical infrastructure of the job involves the provision of ten Channel RF Modulator systems, amplifiers, mixers and rf splitters.  Kevin Moorhouse, Technical Director for Gearhouse Broadcast said “in terms of Output there was one main output, the one viewers receive in their homes, a tactical shots output, and four to five Information Channels which show match statistics such as the number of free kicks taken or penalties given, team possession and so forth so that the commentators can remark on this information throughout the matches.

To staff the RF Installation Gearhouse supplied a Senior Engineer and two Broadcast Engineers to carry out the installations at the four Austrian venues, whilst another crew with the same staffed team carried out the installations at the four Swiss venues.

Gearhouse Broadcast delivered the RF Commentary solution for the UEFA EURO 2004™ and FIFA World Cup Germany 2006™.
