Gearhouse Broadcast complete the systems integration of a purpose built state of the art HD Production Unit for leading UK and European Outside Broadcast facilities provider O21 Television.
The outside broadcast vehicle, Unit 8, is a High Definition Production Unit which was built by renowned outside broadcast truck specialists Smiths of Great Bentley. Drawing on years of experience across all types of broadcast systems integration Gearhouse Broadcast has built an extremely flexible facility that will meet the demands of the most complex production.

Unit 8, which is a double expanding truck comprises 24 HD cameras, 12 VTRs, 4 EVSs, a Calrec Alpha audio mixer, a 4ME 80 input Sony vision mixer, a three tier production gallery with a large 84 source TFT monitor gallery. The production truck uses large Pro-Bel routers with all sources and destinations available on the router allowing maximum flexibility. The Calrec Alpha audio desk boasts blue fin technology and the large AES audio router gives the unit impressive audio capabilities, it is fully capable of 5.1 surround sound audio and multi-track recordings with a vast array of outboard equipment. The production gallery has been carefully designed to create a welcoming and spacious working environment, which includes high quality interior lighting, seating and finishes.
Gearhouse Broadcast has built two further outside broadcast vehicles, Unit 7 and Tape 3. Unit 7, which is a single expanding truck, was fitted out with 20 HD camera, 8 VTRs, 2 EVSs, a Calrec Sigma audio mixer, 3.5ME 60 input vision mixer with a two tier production area with a 60 source TFT monitor gallery.
Tape 3 is a single expanding large HD tape and editing facility. The unit will be wired to handle 14 EVS machines and 12 VTRs plus 2 edit suites. Pro-Bel routers with all sources and destinations available on the router allow maximum flexibility. Impressive audio capabilities were fitted which are capable of 5.1 surround audio and multi-track recordings with a vast array of outboard equipment to meet the production needs of the most demanding broadcasts.
