Project: Broadcast installations at Al-Khor and Al-Wakrah Stadia
Client: AV Tech on behalf of the Qatar National Olympic Committee
Gearhouse Broadcast completed delivery of permanent broadcast facilities at two sports stadia, Al-Khor and Al-Wakrah in Doha, Qatar. The project was commissioned by AV Tech on behalf of the Qatar National Olympic Committee.
Gearhouse Broadcast put the entire broadcast infrastructure into both stadia, which comprised TV Room integration, Wall Box installation and cable installation.
Gearhouse Broadcast carried out two site surveys to review each of the stadium venues and agreed cable routes. Broadcaster Al Jazeera was consulted in relation to the broadcasting equipment specifications and with regards to the locations and configurations of wall boxes. High definition technologies were specified for the distribution and monitoring systems in the TV Room where Gearhouse Broadcast engineers selected the most fit for purpose manufacturers and products. The equipment chosen has previously been installed by Gearhouse Broadcast in other stadiums like Qatar Sports Club, Al Saad and Al Arabi. The distribution and monitoring systems is built in Gearhouse Broadcast’s UK Head Quarters and shipped out to Doha for installing.
